Who Wouldn't Want to Ride at Oak Openings Metro Park (and pick up an order at RAMM Fence)?


Known as one of the top 10 largest metro parks in the USA, its prairie grass areas are one of the few still existing. Habitats include the Oak Savanna, Oak Woodlands, Tall and Wet prairie areas, lakes sand dunes.  When was the last time that you had a fun and new riding experience? You now have a real reason to 'have to take the horses' with you!

Ramm Horse Fencing and Stalls is across the street from the beautiful Oak Openings trials! If you would like to pick up your order at our main headquarters and R & D Farm (we are located minutes from the 80/90 - I75 crossroads).  Don't forget to bring your trailer and horses! We will load your order AND you can take an afternoon to ride in one of the most beautiful parks (no fees or parking passes needed) that we know!  Other wise, we can be your stopping point. I'm sure we can accommodate your needs!

With over 14 miles of horse trials, the 4,000-acre Metro Park has a Horse Riders Center located on Jeffers Road with ample parking for trailers, restrooms, water, hitching posts and a picnic shelter with frills.  Beautiful Evergreen Lake also has a shelter area with convent water and access for horses to drink from the lake!  Nearby is Maumee State Forest with over 3,000 acres adjacent to Oak Openings Preserve and 15 miles of bridle trails with trailer parking.  This park is unlike any other habitat in Ohio.  Its rare blend of habitat and species are found in only a few places in the world! Its home to about one-third of all rare and endangered species in the state. You may see deer, coyotes, flying squirrels, mink, badgers, hognose snakes (non-poisonous), turtles, wild turkey, hawks, owls, flickers, indigo buntings, gold finches, and woodpeckers as well as an array of butterflies.  Additionally, near by is Mary Jane Thurston State Park located along both sides of the Maumee River, South of Oak Openings. The parks North Turkey foot area has 6 miles of trials for riding as well as back packing and mountain biking.
